Cameron Parish Library Summer Reading Program

Readers of all ages will explore the night this summer as each branch of the Cameron Parish Library presents “Dream Big—READ!” during their summer reading program. Activities may include programs on stargazing and moon lore, dreams and wishes, space exploration, nocturnal animals and more.   FREE shows with great performers of all kinds are scheduled at each branch.  The 2012 Summer Reading Program is open to young people, preschool through young adult, with programs, prize drawing, story hours, a reading club, and more. Families are invited to join the NEW Read-to-Me portion of the program. For more information on this program and the great prizes that go with it, please call your local library.

Louisiana Author Presentation at Johnson Bayou Library

 

The Johnson Bayou Library Adult Book Club will host a presentation and book signing for Louisiana author Dr. Norman German on Monday, May 21 from 12-2pm.

A native of Lake Charles, Dr. Norman German is an English professor at Southeastern Louisiana University where he has taught for 24 years. The Johnson Bayou Library Adult Book Club recently read Dr. German’s novel A Savage Wisdom and plan to discuss and review the novel with him.  The book club has chosen his novel No Other World for its June book read & discussion.

The public is invited to the presentation and book signing from 12-2pm. Copies of his books will be available for purchase: A Savage Wisdom $10 each and No Other World $8 each.
