Digitized Cameron Pilot Newspaper Project

The Digitized Cameron Pilot Newspaper Project is a project that was undertaken by the Cameron Parish Library & the Cameron Pilot to digitize more than sixty years worth of historical Cameron Parish Pilot newspapers and make them accessible to anyone, anywhere, on-line for free on the Cameron Parish Library’s website.

There are some gaps in files that we will hope to fill soon. Many more newspapers are still being digitized from original newspapers, microfilm and Cameron Parish Pilots PDF files.

This test of the Pilot Newspaper Project hopes to have searchable text available to users to ease in their searching.  Just download the file, click CTRL & F, then type in your search term.

Note: Missing issues reflect gaps in the original newsprint or microfilm collections scanned.

**Cameron Parish Library generally does not own the rights to material in the digitized newspaper collection and, therefore, cannot grant or deny permission to publish or otherwise distribute the material. It is the responsibility of the user to seek permission from the copyright holder for any purpose other than research and private study.

1958- 2008 were digitized from microfilm and not as clear as the later PDF files from the Cameron Pilot. These digitized from microfilm download a whole year at a time.

Take a peek into the past.  Cameron Parish School yearbooks are now being uploaded for public viewing.

So many Cameron Parish residents lost precious memories in pictures, photo albums, and school yearbooks as a result of Hurricanes Rita and Ike. The Cameron Parish Library is making an effort to help the parish retrieve, and preserve those precious memories in our digital library.

You may drop your old yearbooks at any library to be scanned and returned to you. Thank you to all who have brought your yearbooks to the library already. You may view the Cameron Parish School Yearbooks that are currently available in our digital library.    Click to see more!

Old Cameron Parish Fur and Wildlife Cookbooks have been digitized because so many residents lost theirs to hurricanes.  We will not digitize recent books but there are hard copies for you to look at in each library branch. CLICK HERE TO SEE THE OLDER COOKBOOKS!
